2027 Ford Expedition Trim Levels
The Ford Expedition gives families the space, power, and technology they need for everyday travel and longer adventures. For 2027, shoppers can choose from four core trims, each with a different balance of comfort, capability, and style.
The 2027 Ford Expedition trim levels include Active, Platinum, Tremor, and King Ranch. Ford also offers MAX versions of the Active, Platinum, and King Ranch for drivers who need additional cargo space.

What Is New for 2027?
The 2027 Expedition receives several updates that add more style and flexibility to the lineup.
Ford introduces an available 30th Anniversary Appearance Package exclusively for the Platinum trim. This package includes unique badging, special 22-inch wheels, anniversary details, and available Blue Ember Metallic paint. Bronze Fire Metallic Tinted Clearcoat and Nocturnal Blue Metallic also join the exterior color selection on certain models.
Additional 2027 updates include:
- Available 4x2 configurations for Platinum and King Ranch models
- A Ford Security Package with one year of included service
- An available seven-year Ford Security Package purchase option
- New exterior color choices on select trims
Every model includes a 24-inch panoramic display and a 13.2-inch center display. These screens work with the Ford Digital Experience to place navigation, entertainment, and vehicle information within easy reach.
Ford Expedition Active
The Ford Expedition Active gives drivers the essential features of a full-size SUV without adding unnecessary extras. It works well for families who value space, capability, and practical technology.
A 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine produces 400 horsepower. Ford pairs the engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The standard Trailer Tow Prep Package also helps prepare the SUV for family trips and recreational equipment.

Ford Expedition Platinum
The Ford Expedition Platinum adds upscale materials, advanced technology, and more comfort throughout the cabin. It fits drivers who want a refined family SUV that still offers strong towing and everyday capability.
Standard heated and ventilated leather-trimmed front seats support drivers during changing Illinois seasons. Heated, power-folding second-row captain’s chairs give passengers additional comfort and make it easier to reach the third row.

Ford Expedition Tremor
The Ford Expedition Tremor focuses on off-road performance. It gives families the passenger space of a three-row SUV with equipment designed for trails, gravel roads, mud, and other demanding conditions.
Ford equips the Tremor with a high-output 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that produces 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. Intelligent four-wheel drive comes standard.

- 3.73 electronic-locking rear differential
- Rock Crawl mode
- Ford Trail Control
- Modified Raptor-inspired skid plates

The electronic-locking differential helps improve traction by allowing both rear wheels to receive power together. Ford Trail Control manages acceleration and braking at low speeds, allowing the driver to focus on steering across difficult terrain.
Unlike the other core models, Ford does not offer the Tremor in a MAX configuration.
Ford Expedition King Ranch
The Ford Expedition King Ranch combines premium comfort with distinctive Southwestern design. It offers unique materials and styling that separate it from the rest of the lineup.
